• For a radiant complexion slice a few grapes in half and rub the cut sides over clean skin. “The fruit acids are natural exfoliators,” explains Regine Berthelot, head aesthetician at the Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa at The Plaza in New York City.

• Wake up tired, puffy eyes with a chilled eye cream (store yours in the fridge). Apply it from the outer corners of your eyes toward your nose. “This helps drain excess fluid in the area,” says Annet King, director of global education at Dermalogica.

• Zap blemishes with two ingredients homeopaths have used for centuries: anti-inflammatory arnica and antibacterial tea tree oil.

Inject able dermal fillers are widely used by people seeking to smooth out wrinkles, but it’s important to know the risks of these products before using them, a U.S. government expert says.
Dermal fillers use a variety of materials to treat facial wrinkles. Most of these products are temporary and last for about six months or more. Only one permanent wrinkle filler is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Dermal fillers are not approved for use anywhere else but on the face.
“As with any medical procedure, being injected with dermal fillers poses some risks. You should ask what you can expect and contact your health care professional if you are concerned about a particular side effect,” Dr. Janette Alexander, an FDA medical officer, said in an agency news release.
Common side effects include bruising, redness, swelling, pain and itching. Other side effects can include infections, lumps and bumps, discoloration or a change in pigmentation. Rare, but serious, risks include scarring, blurred vision, partial vision loss, blindness and severe allergic reactions (anaphylactic shock).
Most side effects occur shortly after a dermal filler is injected and vanish within two weeks, according to Alexander. She said you should not use wrinkle fillers if you have:
  • Severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylactic shock
  • An allergy to collagen (if you want to use a filler containing collagen)
  • An allergy to lidocaine (if you planned on using a filler with lidocaine)
  • A tendency to form excessive scarring or thick scarring
  • A bleeding disorder
  • An active inflammatory condition — such as cysts, pimples, rashes or hives — or an infection. In such cases you should postpone treatment until the condition is controlled.
Alexander also noted that the safety of dermal fillers is unknown when used in pregnant or breast-feeding women, in people younger than 18 or when used with Botox and other wrinkle treatments.
She also warned to never buy dermal fillers on the Internet. They could be fake, contaminated and/or dangerous.

Be game for playful nails

Be game for playful nails

Let your nails look nail-o-vicious by coloring them with pop hues or with the help of a few accessories.

Here are some tips from Ashikaga Janet, make-up expert and executive director of Alps Beauty Clinics:

Nail paints: The nail co lours have undertaken a diversified journey from glossy-shimmery nail-polishes to bright yet subtle looking ones. Hot pink, red, orange, green and yellow, the market is full of bright nails possible.

One may also find convenient nail-pens, which makes the task of painting them easier. If you are bored of the usual texture of nail paints - go wild with velvet ones and nail-paints with foils - with a tendency to change its sheen.

Nail art: A nail-do where two or more nail paints are mixed, makes way for a great nail-art. This is often done along with a few other nail-accessories that are used to enhance the look of your fingers.

Nail extensions: Nail extensions are for those who complain of brittle, hence short nails; but if you yearn for longer-looking nails, you can go for this trend. Special acrylic powder and liquids are used to paste the natural looking long nails on the original ones.

Nail piercing: Go for nail-piercing by getting nail accessories like butterflies, bows, stones, pearls and other studs pierced over your nail bed. The procedure is painless. If you would like to be on a little daring, you can opt for slightly long chains and accessories - which keep hanging beyond your nails.

3D nail art: Known as a more prominent sequel to nail-art, it is done using different colored swarovski, bows, pearls, stones and chains. It is a shortened-up form of nail-piercing - where the frills attached on your nails last for a specified time period only.

Moreover, a lot of asymmetrical studs are often used to garnish the overall look of our nails in 3D nail-art - while some nails are left blank to add a dash of unevenness to the do. You can go all wild while choosing the hues for nail-paints and accessories or also keep it a bit simple. But remember to make sure that you don't go overboard with all the baling together.
k a look.

Raw honey can be used, not just in our breakfast cereal or dessert, but also get glowing and younger looking skin. Abundant in antioxidants, honey is known to have antibacterial properties too.

Here's how you can use honey for your skin every day.
-If you have an acne breakout, you can get rid of them using honey. Gently dab honey on the acne-affected area. You can also mix it with tea tree or lavender oil for an extra boost.

-Use a mix of honey and coconut/jojoba oil as a skin cleanser. It not only loosens the makeup but also acts as a moisturizer

-For dry skin, mix honey, vegetable oil and lemon juice and apply on the skin. Leave for 10 minutes and wash off.
